Extratime (general)

Free space is disappointment, and Toronto FC filled the #CCLFever free space on Tuesday by dropping the first (and home) leg of the Concacaf Champions League final to Chivas Guadalajara. The guys commiserate, as any MLS fan who follows this tournament does, then dig a little deeper below the surface to figure out what happened and attempt to find hope for next week's historic deciding match.

Also in this episode ... MLSsoccer.com national writer Paul Tenorio on the latest development in the Lee Nguyen saga, Tata's options when it comes to getting Ezequiel Barco on the field for ATLUTD, some thoughts on those Bobby Wood rumors and lots of gnashing of teeth in the mailbag.

Free space is disappointment, but Toronto FC don’t care. This is the stuff legends are made of, and a Concacaf Champions League title would make these Reds just that. The guys go all-in on Leg 1 and the long-term legacies at stake against Chivas Guadalajara, then turn to MLS Week 7.

Also in this episode ... GAM, TAM and Sam Stejskal on the "elite teams and regular teams" per Alexi Lalas, Kaku shines and Jesse Marsch says he's ready for the XI, Western Conference musical chairs, plus Ben Baer in the mailbag

Toronto FC became just the third team in MLS history to reach the Concacaf Champions League final. The guys are, predictably, elated. But before elation comes disappointment, and the Red Bulls made sure the free space was marked.

Also in this episode ... MLSsoccer.com national writer Paul Tenorio on those Mario Balotelli rumors, D.C. United's big summer and Crew SC's transfer policy, plus more ETR Bingo squares and diagnosing Real Salt Lake's woes in the Mailbag.

Could this be the best week in MLS history? If Toronto FC and the Red Bulls advance in Concacaf Champions League, it'd be up there. Then again, the #CCLFever free space is disappointment, so gird your loins for what has previously been the inevitable when it comes to summiting Mount Liga MX. The guys give MLS Week 6 the full breakdown treatment, then look ahead to Tuesday's matches at Red Bull Arena (in front of a boatload of Chivas fans) and at the Azteca.

#CCLFever is back, and it just keeps getting better. Toronto FC delivered a message to Club America on the field. Off the field, the infamous BMO Field tunnel struck again and Piojo stole the headlines. In Guadalajara, the Red Bulls made it ugly, saw red, missed some big chances and ... got a decent result. Meanwhile, Aurelien Collin Concacafed until he could Concacaf no more.

Also in this episode ... Paul Tenorio on the Iker Casillas-to-Chicago and Ben Arfa-to-MTL rumors, and Orlando's short- and long-term future. Plus Ben Baer in the mailbag talking the Bruce Arena book, D.C. United’s future, and much more.

Zlatan? Zlatan. Zlatan, Zlatan and Zlatan. One man stole the show this weekend in MLS, and everybody knows who is he and what he did to win "El Trafico" for the LA Galaxy the very first time he pulled on the jersey. With David and Bobby back from GA Cup, Andrew has company to break down Ibrahimovic's heroics in the first-ever rivalry match between the incumbents and LAFC. Plus, Ashley Cole joins the guys to give his perspective on a historic day.

"I think Jesse [Marsch] should go to sleep every night thanking God for a Bradley Wright-Phillips." - Luis Robles

True statement, but is BWP the best MLS goalscorer (and perhaps player) of all-time? Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch made that argument on Saturday following another vintage performance from the Englishman. Andrew and Matt talk through the New York legend's case, then cover the rest of Week 4 with a fine-toothed comb.

Also in this episode ... Did Gio Savarese make the right move benching Liam Ridgewell? Who might drop to the bench for the Galaxy? Who is the rumored LAFC third DP? Plus, David Gass interviews Alecko Eskandarian from GA Cup and bad puns galore in the mailbag.

An already awful week for the Sounders got even worst when Clint Dempsey saw red and the final score in Dallas read 3-0 ... same as it did in Guadalajara midweek when the Rave Green crashed out of the Concacaf Champions League. The guys jump in the Green Room to diagnose the back-to-back MLS Cup finalist's issues (injuries, fitness, form and a lack of cohesion), then turn to the rest of MLS Week 3.

Did Kendall Waston deserve to be sent off against Atlanta United? Are NYCFC the best team in MLS? Can Orlando City weather the storm (and the pressure) that's quickly building? Is Toronto FC's MLS form down to a CCL hangover? Are Montreal on the upswing after a Canadian Classique win and a few big signings? Are the Loons for real (and what's wrong with the Fire)? Plus, musings from the SoccerPlex and Sporting Park.

Also in this episode ... MLSsoccer.com national writer Sam Stejskal on Seattle's DP search, USMNT roster reaction, Red Bulls supporters on CCL vs. MLS Cup and a packed mailbag.
