Those memories may not have happened without the work of long-time US soccer executive Kevin Payne. D.C. United’s first president and CEO explains how he hired Bruce Arena, signed Marco Etcheverry and built the league’s first dynasty.

Then it’s time to bust out the chisels for a couple more Mount Rushmore excercises. First up, the San Jose Earthquakes. Should Landon Donovan be in consideration? What about DeRo?
